Through photography I try to capture reality, usually revealing an interpreted image, often with glances of romanticism. I constantly look for fragments of alienation, trying to create my own world.
I am always on the look out for people, things and places out of the ordinary.
When searching for that world, it seems to be everywhere.
In my commissioned work for government and industry, I take an interest in places and architecture that are in a period of transition. To me there is nothing more fascinating; the way it was, the way it is and the way it will be.
At the moment I try to capture change in panorama photo and film.
After a master class with documentary filmer Ben van Lieshout, new cameras, and a sense of rhythm, I feel a drive to create a world and tell a story in moving images. This is where I discover new paths.
A growing influence in my photography are my sketches. For as long as I can remember, I’ve strived to create my own world on paper. Sometimes I’ll expose them on my site, sometimes they are exhibited in galleries, other times they’ll be scattered throughout my studio, in clear view, yet unseen.
